We would like to take this opportunity to underline the core values of our project and our vision for a resurgent Venice.

While the project to reconstruct the Teatro San Cassiano of 1637 is about celebrating spectacle and the glory of Venice in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it is also as much about its future as it is its past.

In addition to the technical and spectacle aspects of the theatre, our project offers a vision of regeneration, impact, outreach, education and sustainability which, celebrating its true cultural heritage, offers Venice a sympathetic contribution to a commercially secure and environmentally sustainable future, which places Venice and the Venetians at its centre. Both in construction and in operation, the Teatro San Cassiano will create new jobs, new businesses, new opportunities, and all driven out of an ethos for a sustainable regeneration of Venice. Its outreach programme will reimagine the meaning of “public opera” in the 21st century.

This is not just a theatre on a plot of land. This is Venice broadcasting via all global media that it celebrates its culture, its commerce, and that it remains relevant today. What could be a better flagship for Venice, at this time of environmental concern for the city, than the sustainable "rebirth" that the reconstruction of the Teatro San Cassiano offers to this great city?

As we take a look at the next 1,601 years, we sincerely believe that Venice deserves this wonderful Teatro San Cassiano.
