With Venice again open to the world, the momentum continues to build.
On 3 July we met with the Sindaco’s office, where we again received what I am told is their unprecedented support. Later that day, our architects and build team, Stefano and I, visited our preferred site. Quite simply, it is there for us to make happen.
I have to say that its potential is beyond anything I could have imagined at the start of this process. It offers us not just the capacity to rebuild to exact specification the original theatre of 1637, but more to create a world-leading cultural centre for Baroque opera, with museum, research facilities and of course the most perfect setting to host historically-informed Baroque opera.
Again, we must be respectful of Venetian process, but if Venice continues to share our vision then unquestionably we can deliver the perfect theatre, set in the perfect palazzo and on the perfect site; moreover, we will offer a visitor experience worthy of the grandeur of La Serenissima. See here how our architect, Jon Greenfield (Hamson Barron Smith), marries the reconstructed theatre to the restored palazzo to create one harmonious cultural centre for Baroque opera.
WRITE YOUR NAME INTO OPERA HISTORY
In the simplest of terms, the opportunity is now ours to secure. The site is in our grasp, we have the will of the city and we must now act to bring our investors together to purchase the site and to deliver our vision.
We can do this in two ways: our FOUNDER-INVESTORS and our AMICI.
FOUNDER-INVESTORS
Our immediate task is to raise our first £20 million to allow the purchase of the site and to commence reconstruction. Our plan is already afoot, but of course we continue to welcome all interested parties.
If this is you and you have the vision to make this your legacy, this is your moment. Please contact me directly at info@teatrosancassiano.it and write your name into opera history.
AMICI - DONATE
But everyone has a role to play. We now need our Amici to provide the working capital to fund our operation. We need you to fund the day-to-day running costs, to finance the company while we seek investment. This will keep the project moving forward and help pay for all the qualified specialists we need to make this a reality.
You can do this here:
Simply DONATE £20+ or join the team and become one of our AMICI.
Together, we can make this happen.
Thank you
